Lusaka, Zambia, Friday, 04 October 2024:— The Minister of Communication and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Adan Moalim Ali (Somali), who is attending the 2024 Africa Digital Governments Summit held in Lusaka, Zambia, has held bilateral meetings with some of his counterparts from African countries.
Initially, the Minister met with the Ministers of Communication from Zambia and Burundi, discussing ways to strengthen relations and the possibility of reaching mutual agreements between the countries. They explored opportunities for enhancing cooperation and mutual benefits.
The Minister also met with representatives from several technology companies interested in investing in Somalia. These representatives welcomed the progress Somalia has made in the fields of telecommunications and technology.
Hon. Mohamed Somali shared with the Ministers he met the significant progress made by the Government of Somalia in developing legislative frameworks and advancing the digital sector, which has been a key focus of the government’s efforts.
In conclusion, the Minister expressed his gratitude for the productive meetings with his counterparts who participated in the Africa Digital Governments Summit, which this year has generated exceptional interest.
