The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali, participated in the 2025 Digital Cooperation and Development Summit, which commenced today in Amman, Jordan. The summit is jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States, in collaboration with Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
This high-level summit brought together Ministers of Communications from Arab nations to review the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033 and deliberate on strengthening technological cooperation, knowledge exchange, and initiatives aimed at advancing digital transformation across the region.
During the summit, Hon. Minister Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali highlighted Somalia’s role in digital development, emphasizing the significance of modernizing telecommunications infrastructure, fostering technological innovation, and establishing regulatory frameworks that facilitate the growth of the digital economy.
Furthermore, the Minister engaged in bilateral discussions with his counterparts from various countries to explore avenues for strategic collaboration in advancing Somalia’s communications and technology sector.
The Digital Cooperation and Development Summit serves as a pivotal platform for Arab nations to enhance digital cooperation, address existing challenges, and formulate long-term strategies for sustainable digital economic growth.
