The Honourable Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali (Somali), participated in the closing session of a two-day Portfolio Performance Review Conference focused on assessing the progress and effectiveness of development projects across Somalia, including those supported by international partners.
The conference convened representatives from various ministries, government agencies benefiting from development projects, and senior officials from development partners. The key objectives of the event were to evaluate the current status of ongoing projects, measure the achievements to date, identify challenges impeding progress, and explore new opportunities to strengthen development outcomes across sectors.
Throughout the conference, participants placed particular emphasis on accelerating the implementation of these projects and ensuring their alignment with national development goals. Discussions highlighted the importance of transparency, efficiency, and accountability in project execution to maximize their positive impact on Somali society.
In his address, the Minister of Communications and Technology, H.E. Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali (Somali), underscored the delays currently affecting the implementation of several key projects. He emphasized the urgent need to expedite execution processes to ensure timely delivery of results. The Honourable Minister further reiterated the crucial role these development initiatives play in fostering growth within Somalia’s communications and technology sectors. He pointed out that such projects are instrumental in building a robust digital infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and driving technological innovation across the country.
Minister Mohamed expressed his deep appreciation to all development partners for their continuous support and close collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia. He highlighted that these partnerships are vital to the development of Somalia’s telecommunications infrastructure and play a significant role in advancing the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The two-day conference concluded with a formal closing ceremony led by the Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Biixi Iimaan Cige. This conference forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure the effective delivery and oversight of development projects in Somalia. It aims to guarantee that these initiatives serve the Somali people efficiently, contributing meaningfully to national development and prosperity.
