The Federal Minister of Communication and Technology, Honorable Mohamed Adan Moalim (Somali), participated in the inaugural Somalia Digital Health Summit 2024, officially launched today by the Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
The summit, which focused on the transformative role of modern technology in advancing healthcare, brought together key stakeholders, including the Second Deputy Prime Minister, federal cabinet ministers, ministers from regional administrations, members of the Federal Parliament, representatives from civil society organizations, national and international health experts, and other distinguished guests.
In his keynote address at the summit’s opening, Hon. Mohamed Adan Moalim (Somali) commended the government and the healthcare sector for their unwavering efforts to enhance Somalia’s healthcare services through digital technology.
The Minister highlighted the Ministry’s critical role in drafting digital regulations, safeguarding personal data, and ensuring the secure storage of information.
He also emphasized the importance of building robust technological infrastructure to strengthen healthcare delivery systems across the nation.
The Somalia Digital Health Summit 2024, being the first of its kind in Somalia, marks a significant step towards the development of the country’s healthcare services, underlining the commitment of the Federal Government of Somalia to leveraging technology for national progress.
