Beijing, Friday, September 06, 2024: The Minister of Communication and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali (Soomaali), joined the delegation accompanying His Excellency President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Beijing, China, for a significant bilateral meeting with His Excellency President Xi Jinping of China, held at the Presidential Palace.
The two leaders discussed deepening the diplomatic ties between Somalia and China, with both agreeing to strengthen relations and elevate them to a strategic partnership. The focus of the talks was on expanding cooperation in areas that benefit both nations and their people.
His Excellency President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud emphasized the long-standing mutual support between the two countries, reaffirming their commitment to upholding each other’s territorial integrity, in line with international sovereignty and governance laws.
His Excellency President Xi Jinping expressed China’s dedication to enhancing collaboration with Somalia, particularly in key areas such as economic development, infrastructure investment, food security, and climate change. He also announced a generous grant of 200 million yuan to support Somalia’s priority development programs.
