Mogadishu, Thursday, August 22, 2024:The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali (Somali), took part in a high-level preparatory meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was convened in anticipation of the Ministerial Consultation on the National Agenda that Somalia will present at the forthcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), scheduled to be held in Beijing from September 4th to 6th. The session was presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Moalim Fiqi.
In his address during the preparatory discussions, Minister of Communications, Hon. Mohamed Somali, underscored the critical importance of consolidating the achievements of his recent visit to China. He particularly emphasized the need to advance cooperation in key areas such as digital infrastructure, innovation, digital transformation, policy development, security, and the enhancement of digital capacities.
The upcoming Forum will mark the ninth session of the China-Africa Cooperation dialogue, with Somalia poised to participate through a distinguished delegation led by the nation’s senior leadership.
