(Mogadishu, 9, October, 2023) Minister of Communications and Technology FGS Mr. Jama Hassan Khalif participated in the opening ceremony of the Frequency Monitoring Center, which was held at the headquarters of the National Communications Agency (NCA), and was attended by the General Manager of NCA, the Deputy General Manager of NCA and other distinguished guests.
The Minister of the Ministry of Communications & Technologies, Mr. Jama Hassan Khalif spoke about the importance of the Frequency Monitoring Center in facilitating the growth and development of communication, saying “The opening of the Frequency Monitoring Center is an important step towards achieving our vision of a digitally connected nation. This facility will enhance the capabilities of the Frequency management, which will lead to the improvement of the quality of service, the increase of innovation and the enhancement of the competitiveness of the Telecommunications.”
Mr. Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, General Manager of NCA, said he is very happy with the opening of the Frequency Monitoring Center, saying “This center will change a lot in the monitoring and management of Frequency resources in our country. With the rapid expansion of the country’s telecommunications infrastructure and the proliferation of wireless technology, it is important to monitor Frequency to ensure that communication services are uninterrupted and prevent interference, which ultimately leads to improve the quality of services provided to customers.”
The Frequency Monitoring Center will be central to monitoring and analyzing frequency usage, detecting illegal activities, and resolving frequency overlapping/interference issues.
The Center’s equipment, which is capable of monitoring different types of frequencies, will provide information that will help to make decisions related to the efficient allocation of frequency as one of the most important communication resources.
