Mogadishu – April 23, 2024 — H.E. The Minister of Communications and Technology, MP Mohamed Adam Moalim Ali (Somali), today convened an inaugural meeting and hosted a distinguished reception for the Chief Executive Officers of telecommunications firms in the country, to discuss on strengthening the collaborative ties between the Ministry and the telecommunications sector.
The Director General of the Ministry, Mr. Abdul Aziz Duwane Isaq, alongside various directors of the Ministry’s departments also participated in this meeting.
The Hon. MP Mohamed Somali, Minister of Communications and Technology, commended the telecommunications companies for their contributions to Somali society and their significant business investments within the nation, which are pivotal to the country’s economic growth.
“Globally, the country’s national companies are being proud and gratified, and the Ministry consistently advocates for the prosperity of Somali entrepreneurs. It is imperative that we fortify our legal frameworks to safeguard your interests. I am acutely aware of the challenges and circumstances you work in, and I courage that the competition among firms will be conducted in a manner that is both transparent and beneficial to Somali society,” stated Minister Mohamed Somali.
Leading Executives from the telecommunications companies expressed their appreciation for the productive discussion as well as the opportunity to engage in a special meeting with the Minister of Communications and Technology, and they pledged to foster a close collaborative relationship with the ministry.
